How do we collect information from you?
We obtain information about you when you:
- use our website;
- when you process an online or offline booking with us.
What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, telephone number, IP address and information about what website pages are accessed and when. If you make an online booking, your card information is not held by us; it is collected by a third-party payment provider (D-Edge, Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, etc.)
How is your information used?
We may use your information to:
- contact you through email about our services;
- process your booking;
- seek your views or comments in relation to our services;
- notify you of changes to our business or services,
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis and will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary to process your bookings securely, or until you opt-out of receiving communication from us. You will not be signed onto our mailing list without providing us with consent first. You can opt out of our online and offline marketing at any time by following the instruction at the bottom of our e-mails.
Who has access to your information?
We will not sell your information to third parties or share your personal data for marketing purposes.
Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf: Third party service providers may be given access to your name and email address for the purposes of completing tasks on our behalf.
When we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own purposes. Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties and will never sell your information to external parties for marketing or other purposes.
Your personal information will be stored in our Property Management System, HOST.
Your choices
You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. If you no longer wish to receive email communication about our services then you are able to unsubscribe.
How you can access and update your information
The accuracy of your information is important to us. We’re working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you. In the meantime, if you change your email address or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email us at [email protected].
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. We will provide this information to you electronically within a 30-day period.
You can find out more about your rights as a data subject at the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) website.
Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected. When you are on a secure page, a lock icon will appear on the bottom of web browsers such as Google Chrome.
Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Use of cookies
Like many other websites, our website also uses cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information sent by an organisation to your computer and stored on your hard drive to allow that website to recognise you when you visit. They collect statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns and do not identify you as an individual. For example, we use cookies to improve our website and deliver a better experience.
It is possible to switch off cookies by setting your browser preferences. Turning cookies off may result in a loss of functionality when using our website.

Our website may contain links to other websites. This Privacy Notice applies only to our website and so we encourage you to read the privacy notices on the other websites you visit as we cannot be responsible for their practices even if you access them using links from our website.
In addition, if you linked to our website from a third party site, we cannot be responsible for the practices of the operators of that third party site and recommend that you check the Privacy Notice of that third party site.
Checking-In
On check-in, we ask that you bring a copy of your Passport/ID card, we do not accept drivers licence, as well as the card that you used to make an online payment.
We use this data to help prevent fraud and to stop anybody from using your bank details without your permission. We will store this data for 6 months in compliance with your bank.
Complaints
Under the GDPR (2018) you have the right to complain about the way we process your data. You can complain to us directly by email [email protected] and mark your email for the attention of the Data Protection Officer. You are also welcome to provide us with feedback.
If you would like to take your complaint further, you are also able to complain directly to the ICO who will contact us on your behalf.

We keep this Privacy Notice under regular review and it was last updated on the 16th of July 2018.
General Policy
Timetable:
Arrival – Check-in from 3pm.
Departure – Check-out until 12am.
Early check-in:
Only upon availability and prior booking, entailing an additional cost.
Early Check-Out:
The Hotel reserves the right to charge the total cost of the stay in case of early departure of the guest and without previous prior information (24h minimum). In case of a non-refundable reservation, the room is charged before arrival at the hotel and there will be no refund in case of early departure.
Check-Out after 12 noon:
Late check-out is always subject to request. Please contact reception at least 24 hours in advance. An additional fee will be associated with this service.
We can store your luggage free of charge, please contact us for further details.
Extra Beds: We do not have extra beds available and the maximum capacity is 2 people per room. If in doubt, please contact us before making your booking.
Minimum age: We do not accept children, under the age of 18 years old. To check-in at the Hotel, the guest must be at least 18 years old.
Personal belongings: The guest is 100% responsible for their belongings. Boutique Chiado is not responsible for any possessions. There will be no place for any reimbursement or compensation should any goods or valuables go astray during your stay.
Smoking: Smoking is prohibited throughout the hotel, including the room. In accordance with the hotel’s policy, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee according with Law Nº 63/2017 of 3 August (Fine € 750) if this rule is not complied with.

Bookings: All reservations include only accommodation, or accommodation and breakfast, other services will have an additional cost. A local city tax will be asked upon arrival, 4€ per person per night, in accordance with Deliberação n.º 159/CM/2016 (Boletim Municipal n.º 1156, 2.º suplemento de 14 de abril).
Guarantee Policy: In order to take advantage of all the services we have at your disposal, we require that you have a valid credit card at the time of your stay. At the time of check-in, the guest authorizes the amount of 150€ will be made available on their credit card to charge any consumption made during their stay (minibar, room service, bar, etc).
Deposit Policy: In case you do not have a valid credit card, a cash deposit may be required to guarantee the reservation and access to your room. The cash deposit will be returned to you at check-out minus any consumption made during your stay (minibar, room service, bar, etc).
Damage or missing items: The Hotel reserves the right to charge for any damages that are maliciously caused by the customer.
Pets: Pets are not allowed on the property. Only guide dogs, with proper legal documentation as “mobility aids”, are allowed with the accompanied guest that is blind or partially sighted.
